New Server!

UPDATE: The servers are now into hour two of the migration. All services on the old server have been shut down to prevent any changed data. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi folks!  This is your faithful server administrator typing.  :)

Our new server has finally been set up and is all ready.  At 7:00 PM MDT (GMT-7), I will be beginning the process of transferring.

I ask all users to NOT access accounts and modify data, as the data on the old server will be frozen.  You do not have to do anything on your end but wait.

This process should take approximately two hours, however it could be longer depending on how fast your DNS servers are.

The following nameservers are affected:
NS1.PIXELSTORMS.COM
NS2.PIXELSTORMS.COM

If your domains are hosted on these nameservers,  we are sorry for the inconvenience, but you should be satisfied with this new server.

Here’s some details on the server:
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) III CPU 1.4GHz
RAM: 512MB
Hard Drive: 16GB
OS: Ubuntu 6.06 (It would be running 7.10, but Plesk isn’t supported on it)
Software: Plesk 8.2.1, MySQL 5.0.22, PHP 5.1.2 (yes, FIVE!), AWStats, Perl, Python, ROR (Ruby-On-Rails), CGI, Fast-CGI.

The server is located in downtown Vancouver, Canada. It has Canadian IPs, so you will be listed in the “Canada Sites Only” searches on Google.ca. How cool?

I’m willing to install new software, as long as it’s not system intensive. Email chad@pixelstorms.com if you want more information on the server.

Web Developer Stock Icons

Well, I’ve been working on a stock icon set for the past few weeks, and I’ve finally finished them! They’re aimed at the web developer, as the iconset contains mostly web action icons. SMTP downtime

We’re currently combating a spam attack from various places in Canada and the United States. As a precaution, we’ve shut down QMail on the server. Any email received or sent will not be delivered.
The type of email delivered is phishing email posing as RBC Bank. As a precaution, please disregard any email you might have recieved between 9:30 PM MDT and 11:30 PM MDT.

We have restored email access to all clients. Sorry for the inconvenience.
